Admission Process
For B.Tech/BE Programs
Admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India primarily occurs through entrance examinations. JEE Main serves as the gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, and numerous state engineering colleges. Top performers in JEE Main become eligible for JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam for IITs. State-level examinations like MHT CET, WBJEE, KCET, and TS EAMCET are conducted for admission to state engineering colleges.
Private deemed universities conduct their own entrance tests including BITSAT for BITS Pilani, VITEEE for VIT, SRMJEEE for SRM, and COMEDK for engineering colleges in Karnataka. Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, typically with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks. The admission process involves filling application forms, appearing for entrance exams, participating in counseling sessions, and document verification.
For M.Tech/ME Programs
Postgraduate engineering admissions are primarily based on GATE scores for IITs, NITs, and many other government institutions. Some universities conduct their own entrance tests or offer direct admission based on undergraduate performance. Working professionals can also pursue part-time or executive M.Tech programs offered by various institutions.
